Job Description: Location General Manager - Truss Manufacturing
Location: Current opening in the Mid-Atlantic for a large truss and panel manufacturing plant producing a top line revenue of more than $30M annually with ample space for growth. This plant is serving a high growth suburban area outside of Washington DC with access to both urban and rural areas. This position is available due to a promotion.

Position summary and description: Our client is seeking an experienced truss and panel manufacturing leader to continue to company growth in Virginia. Applicants must have wood component manufacturing leadership experience. A knowledge of design, pricing and sales is important for optimal success.
Complete responsibility of Profit and Loss of Plant.
Oversee inventory control
Oversee equipment maintenance program
Oversee continuous improvement program
Evaluation and development of staff and leadership
Increase management effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, disciplining
managers.
Communicating values, strategies and objectives
Developing incentives and creating an environment of offering information and opinions.
Develop strategic goals by studying technology and financial opportunities; then
recommending ideas.
Creating action plans for departments; design, production, and sales
Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations and
employees.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is directly responsible for activities and performance of associates on a shift and assisting with the evaluations and counseling of hourly associates.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment where individual are exposed to extremes of seasonal heat and cold as well as the potentially dangerous conditions of wood truss manufacturing. Work can be performed outdoors where individual is exposed to the elements. Individual is exposed to the noise levels consistent with building (hammering) and the operation of large, commercial saws. Individual is exposed to the saw dust generated by commercial saws. Eye, ear, head, and hand protection is required depending on the operation being performed.
Required Education/Experience:
College degree preferred and 10 years’ experience
